Hawaii Military Defense Attorney – Jeff Liebenguth

Honolulu, Hawaii – Retired Marine Corps military defense attorney, Jeff Liebenguth, has started his own military defense law firm in downtown Honolulu, HI—Liebenguth Law, LLC.  Mr. Liebenguth retired from the United States Marine Corps in 2019, with his final billet being the Senior Military Defense Attorney at Marine Corps Base Hawaii from 2016 to 2019.  While on active duty in the Marine Corps, Mr. Liebenguth also served as an appellate military defense attorney, a prosecutor, and Special Assistant United States Attorney.  He also taught law at the United States Naval Academy and was an invited speaker at military defense attorney conferences in California and Washington, D.C.  

Mr. Liebenguth specializes in defending military service members facing court martial, NJP, adverse administrative proceedings, and criminal appeals for accusations of rape, sexual assault, fraud, drug offenses, violent crimes, and all other military offenses under the UCMJ.  Although based out of Hawaii, Mr. Liebenguth’s practice is worldwide.           

Since beginning the practice of law in 2003, Mr. Liebenguth has litigated military court martial cases in every way possible: as a military defense attorney, an appellate military defense attorney, a prosecutor, and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney.  As an appellate military defense attorney, Mr. Liebenguth was recognized as the “Silver C.A.A.F. Tongue” award winner for arguing more cases than any other appellate military defense attorney.

As a military defense attorney and prosecutor he has litigated military cases including, but not limited to, those involving allegations of murder, attempted murder, rape, sexual assault, child sex crimes, assault and battery, burglary, and child endangerment. Mr. Liebenguth’s professional affiliations and licensing include the Supreme Court of the United States, the Court of Appeals of the Armed Forces, the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals, the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, the Supreme Court of Hawaii, the Hawaii State Bar Association, and the District of Columbia Bar Association.
